Venue:

The conference will be held at the Faculty of Natural and Life Sciences at the University of Salzburg. The address is

Hellbrunner Straße 34, 5020 Salzburg, Austria.

The conference building is located outside the city centre, but can be reached on foot or by bus within 20 to 30 minutes. The main railway station Hauptbahnhof can be reached by bus in 25 to 30 minutes. The bus stop Michael-Pacher-Straße is located directly in front of the conference building, but only bus line 22 stops there. About 600 meters away is the Faistauergasse bus stop, which is served by several bus lines and provides good connections to the city centre and the main railway station.

If you come by car and are parking by the University please note that it is a short term parking zone, maximum parking 3 hours.

How to arrive to Salzburg:

  • Salzburg has an airport with good public transport connections. It takes about 20/40 minutes to get to the city/conference centre. Bus tickets cost around 3€, daily tickets for the City of Salzburg around 5-6€. A weekly ticket for public transport costs 21€ in the city of Salzburg and 44€ for the entire province of Salzburg. Buying tickets from a ticket machine or online is around 20 % cheaper than from the bus driver.
  • You can take the train from Munich Central Station, which takes around 2 hours and costs around 40€. Trains run at least every hour. From Munich Airport, you can take the S-Bahn to Munich Central Station in around 30 minutes. Train tickets can be purchased both online and at the ticket machine on site shortly before departure.
  • You can also take the train from Vienna Airport, which takes around 3 hours and costs around 50-60€. Trains run at least every hour. Tickets can be purchased both online and at the ticket machine shortly before departure.

Accomodation

Below you can find a short list of hotels that are close to the conference center. For a reduced room rate per night, please quote the keyword SMPS2024 when booking a room in one of the following hotels.

  • The Amadeo Hotel Schaffenrath is about 2.5 km from the conference venue. It is about 20 minutes by bus. Price: 128 € (breakfast included).
  • The JUFA Hotel Salzburg City is approx. 1km away on foot and is close to the city centre. There is no direct bus connection. Prices: please see the hotel’s website.
  • The hotel Motel One is about 2.0 km from the conference venue. It is about 15 minutes by bus. Prices depending on category: 107.25€/145.50€ or 127.25€/165.50€ for single/double room (breakfast and visitor’s tax included).
  • The Gasthof Überfuhr is approx. 1km away on foot. There is no bus connection. Price: 75€/115€ with/without private bathroom.
  • The Hotel Via Roma is located about 1.2 km from the conference venue.  We have reserved a contingent of 15 rooms until the end of June. Prices: 90 € + 19 € breakfast + 8.75 € visitor’s tax.
